What is the Third Leading Cause of Death?

What most people don’t know is that the medical profession, including doctors, drugs, and hospitals, is the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States…. producing over 250,000 annual deaths, only exceeded by heart disease and cancer (Journal of the American Medical Association -2016).

The reasons for the deaths are:

  • Patients not following medication indications
  • Wrong medications are given to patients
  • Unnecessary surgeries
  • Errors in surgery
  • Prescription drug side effects (over 200,000)

This is well-documented information that members of the medical profession are aware of and we are not. Why are we not aware of this data? Is this being kept from us? Well, for one thing, imagine if you had this information. Might you not look at doctors, hospitals, and prescription drugs from a different perspective and with more scrutiny? Yet, although the numerous adverse and secondary effects accompanying pharmaceuticals are mentioned or listed within the ads you see on TV, it doesn’t seem to diminish our dependence on them. Unfortunately, we have become a drug-dependent society, resulting in a lower life expectancy and an increase in chronic diseases.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I never underestimate the vital role of doctors. For example, their value is obvious when it comes to the following:

• Diagnosis • Repairing fractures • Healing wounds • Curing infections with medication • Relieving pain and discomfort with medication • Removing the symptoms of illness and chronic disease • Saving lives through surgery.

However, most doctors are not prepared to deal with that challenge when it comes to preventing and even reversing chronic diseases. They are primarily trained to administer drugs to alleviate symptoms and manage diseases. That is not prioritized during their medical education.

What Can You and I Do?

If you choose to go the way of disease prevention and reversal, you’ll find most solutions outside of the medical mainstream. Understanding and accepting that your body has excellent innate healing and disease-prevention powers are essential.

Trust the Doctor Within You

“Everyone has a doctor in him or her; we just have to help it in its work. The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well. Our food should be our medicine. Our medicine should be our food.”

Hippocrates said this 2500 years ago

If you adopt healthy lifestyle habits (i.e., consume plant-powered foods, exercise, stay active, avoid excess stress, develop positive and caring relationships and, most important…make plant-powered foods the foundation of your health), you can:
