“How much time and effort are you actually investing in your health”?
When something is important to us, we invest in it. For example, how much time and energy do we spend accumulating wealth during our lifetime? How much time do we dedicate to our health? For so many of us, not much…until something terrible happens (i.e., severe illness or chronic disease). At that point, we may decide that it’s time to focus on our health. Unfortunately, it could be too late by then.

Because we’re feeling OK when we’re young, we usually don’t pay attention to preventing chronic diseases. We are fed the narrative and believe that chronic disease only happens to the elderly. Unfortunately, if we continue to think that way, one day, we may find ourselves in a precarious health situation where we say, “I should have taken better care of myself.”
The solution, in my opinion, is not to wait until the last moment before we take action. What better time to start than right now? And how to start? Begin by increasing the amount of Whole Plant-Based Foods you eat and consuming fewer animal products and processed foods. Why? Because that’s what the healthiest and longest-living populations on the planet eat (i.e., rural China, Japan, Africa, and the Blue Zones – Okinawa, Japan, Sardinia, Italy, Ikaria, Greece, Nicoya, Costa Rica and Loma Linda, California). If you take on the challenge, your body will gift you with improved physical, mental and emotional health and a more robust immune system.
What about “fad” diets? Most “fad” diets, which come and go, make impressive and tempting claims, especially about shedding pounds quickly. I remind you that when something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I would be hesitant before jumping on the quick fix “bandwagon.” Wikipedia lists over 100 diet fads which may explain why people jump from one diet to another. Because they don’t get the long-term results they hoped for!
MY TAKE:
If we can agree that being healthy is at least as vital as being wealthy, doesn’t it make sense to invest our time and effort to ensure that we’re healthy enough to enjoy our lives to the fullest? When we combine plant-based foods with healthy lifestyle choices (i.e., moderate exercise, stress reduction, staying active, caring relationships, self-discovery, sense of purpose),{first_name} we give ourselves the best chance to live a disease-free and long life. And, as an extra perk, you can reach your ideal weight and maintain it.…naturally.
